Meet our Teachers

Sarah Johnston

Sarah completed her 350-hour training in 2012 at Swan River Yoga in New Orleans, La.  While she had originally pursued the program as a path to personal development, when she realized exactly how much transformation it had offered her, she knew she had to share.  She is excited to share parts of the practice she doesn’t always see offered in studios – pranayama, chanting, and meditation – as all of these offer ways to cultivate body awareness, a key component to joyful living.  She believes that so strongly meditation – whatever variety – offers a powerful practice for bringing ease into life that she offers a free guided session each week to the community.

Meg Poe

Meg is a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach, teacher of yoga, Pilates and mindfulness, and founder of Poe Wellness Solutions, LLC. She has almost 30 years of teaching experience and brings an interesting mix of knowledge to her classes (Duke Certified Integrative Health Coach, E-RYT200, RYT500, MA-Exercise Physiology-UNC-CH, MA-Experimental Psychology-Towson University). More importantly she brings to her students her passion for movement, awareness, transformation, healing and learning through doing and being.

I have always been a go, go, go kind of person, believing that life is about doing and pushing forward. Today, I am more about balance. I realize that my best life is achieved through awareness and letting go of the obstacles I seem to put in my own way.Practicing yoga on the mat keeps these concepts in my mind and yoga in my day-to-day living.

Stacey Green

In 2001, I wandered into a yoga class at my gym and fell in love with the practice. I completed my 200-hour training with OM Yoga NYC in 2004 and continued to study and practice with some extraordinary teachers around the world. A few years ago, I moved to Hillsborough and, to my surprise, found the most exceptional Ashtanga (Mysore style) teacher just a few miles away in Durham. I believe the true value of what I bring to my classes comes from my own 17-year practice and what I learn–and struggle with–every day on my own mat.

Nora Dennis

Nora Dennis is passionate about movement as a source of joy and transcendence. Her yogic path started with gym classes with Ti Harmony in 2000. Inspired by the practice, she completed two RYT 200 trainings – one with Lighten Up Yoga in 2004 focusing on Iyengar style and Anusara training with Thousand Petals Yoga in 2008. In 2018 she discovered Buti Yoga and found a fun, intense, music-driven fusion of yoga and primal movement too good not to share. When she isn’t teaching yoga, Nora is mothering her young ones or working as a physician serving our nation’s veterans.

Bryan Bushick

Bryan’s yoga journey started with Baptiste Yoga nearly 20 years ago while living in Pennsylvania. It has since broadened to include hot yoga, vinyasa flow, and traditional Hatha yoga, and deepened in 2018 through completion of his 200-hour Teacher Training at y Respira in Raleigh. Benefiting in so many ways from yoga, Bryan is committed to extending his practice – on and off the mat – as well as to facilitating the experience (and transformation) of other students.  A physician by training, Bryan appreciates the importance of the mind-body connection and applies insights regarding our anatomy and physiology. With children pursuing their college and post-graduate education elsewhere, he resides in Durham with his spouse and Carolina dog, Izzi.
