Class Descriptions

Gentle Flow

1 hour 15 minutes

Move with the breath to bring gentle, rhythmic motion into the body. Invite openness into tight shoulders and hips, practice balance in body and mind, move the spine in each of its five healthy ways, and end with deep, sweet relaxation.

1 hour 15 minutes

In many flow classes, the speed of movement prevents breaking down and exploring the energetic and physical alignment of postures. Fundamentals focuses on the these principles in all poses, so that you have confidence about your expression of a pose, and know how to make a pose your own. Each month we will explore a specific aspect of ashtanga yoga (eightfold yoga), that you can layer into your personal practice.

Meditation (Free!)

45 minutes

Take a break from the busyness of everyday life, and find a moment of stillness. Meditation is a powerful tool to create peace and change in your life, and there are as many ways to meditate as there are types of fish in the water. Each session will begin with some gentle movement and breathwork, followed by a guided meditation.

1 hour 15 minutes

This is an active, flowing class – where each pose moves smoothly into the next, moving with the breath. Designed to build strength and stamina, this class is suitable for those with comfortable with sun salutations and common poses, and enthusiastic beginners.

Yin Yoga

1 hour 15 minutes

Yin yoga practice focuses on the connective tissue in the body – fascia, ligaments, tendons, even bones – by holding positions for longer periods of time. Connective tissue does stretch, but not quickly like muscles. By holding positions for 2 to 20 minutes, connective tissues have time to lengthen and adapt, improving mobility in joints and the spine. This style of yoga is especially helpful if you have body tightness associated with stressful lifestyle, aging or repetitive activities (i.e. prolonged sitting, running, cycling, standing, etc.).
